Our client has 350 people show up to work three shifts on 50 production lines 6 days a week and it could take over 20 minutes to get everyone to their line and productive. How do you get 350 people a day to the right production line in a 150,000 sq ft plant in seconds instead of minutes?

First, we created scheduling software that handled the volume, turnover, and exceptions that a shift scheduled requires.

Next, we integrated scheduling in the production software with four TV displays showing employees which line which line to go to. Any changes to the schedule appear immediately on the displays.

Similar to an airport "Departures" screen, employees can walk into the plant, clock in, find their name on the TV and walk directly to the line they are assigned to work at.

This saves 15 minutes per shift change per person. The reduction in chaos and time-to-line has been amazing! If we save 10 just minutes per shift per person for 300 employees per day, that saves about 7 person-days every day. That's like getting 7 extra people working on the production floor for free every day.

Not only do we save time and start shifts faster, everything goes much more smoothly and chaos is reduced.
